Soprano Julia Muzychenko returns to the Frankfurt Opera after making role debut as Oksana in the 2021/22 Christmas Eve premiere series.
She recently made her house debut as Gilda (Rigoletto) at the Deutsche Oper Berlin and has toured Korea for concerts.
Later in the season she returned to the Montpellier National Opera as Musetta (La Bohéme) and appear in concert with the Orchestre National de Belgique in Brussels.
Most recently she has been engaged to appear as the Swan Princess (The Tale of Tsar Saltan) at the Rhin National Opera, as Violetta Valery (La traviata) at the Teatro de la Marmande and the Teatro Rovereto as Norina (Don Pasquale). She also performed the roles of Gilda and Nanetta (Falstaff) at the Opéra National de Montpellier and the title role of Lakmé at the Les Nuits Lyriques de Marmande festival.
As part of the Clermont-Ferrand International Opera Competition, she won the award for the role of Amina (La Sonambula), which she has since performed in opera houses in Avignon, Metz and Rheims.
Previously, Julia Muzychenko was a member of the Young Ensemble of the Dresden Semperoper, performing Musetta, Olympia (The Tales of Hoffmann), Papagena (The Magic Flute) and Sandmännchen / Taumännchen (Hansel and Gretel).
She also appeared as a soloist at the Advent Concert in the Frauenkirche Dresden in 2019 (broadcast by ZDF) and at the Semperopernball in 2020. The soprano took third place at the Queen Elisabeth Competition 2023 in Brussels and previously took second place at the prestigious Montserrat-Cavalle Competition in Barcelona. She studied singing in her native St. Petersburg and made her debut in 2015 at the Mariinsky Theatre in the title role of Tarnopolsky’s Cinderella.
